How do I clean the Dermafile™?

Clean your Dermafile™ by using a mild detergent and soft tooth brush to remove dead skin cells and cleanser from the tool. To disinfect your tool soak in a solution of 1/2 alcohol and 1/2 peroxide by volume for at least 10 minutes. Rinse and dry. Store in clean dry place.

How does Dermafile™ work?

Dermafile™ is a skin polishing and resurfacing tool made of stainless steel and finely crushed cosmetic diamonds. This file will lightly polish the skin by hand, removing the top layer of dead skin cells, and leaving velvety smooth, fresh, rejuvenated skin.

Where on the body can I use the Dermafile?

Dermafile may be used on any part of the body. It is a very effective tool for treating aging and sun damaged skin, scars, acne scarring, pigmentation, stretch marks, fin lines and enlarged and clogged pores. It will also smooth rough calloused skin on elbows, knees, hands and feet.

Is it possible to exfoliate too much with Dermafile™?

You want tobe very gentle with Dermafile being heavy handed is not necessary and may cause irritation. It is recommended that Dermafile™ be used on a monthly basis to avoid sensitivity and thinning of the skin. You will thicken the dermas, reduce scarring, sun damage and smooth the skin in a safe and healthy way by taking it slow and easy.

Are there any skin types that cannot use the Dermafile™?

No, Dermafile is safe to use on every skin type. However, do not use on broken skin, inflamed skin, acne, pustules, rosecea, moles or any abnormal skin condition. If in doubt consult your health care professional.

Are there any products that are incompatible with Dermafile?

Discontinue RetinA, alpha hydroxyl acids and salisylic acid products 5 days prior to using the Dermafile™ and for 3 days after. Always use a good SPF30 sunblock whenever you are exfoliating your skin. Be sure to use skin care products that are made for your skin type.

How long will a Dermafile last?

This depends on how often it is used and how well it is cared for. The Diamond plating should last about a year. Many Dermafiles have lasted longer.
